Real Deal + Coloured Roof XD

Today in class, we discussed about the second section of the pop-up book which consists of a pop-up house, Sun-Hee and Tae-Yul. We did the prototype of the pop-up house today as to understand how we will make an even more perfect house on the real pop-up house which we made afterwards similar to the design of the prototype but modified to look more decent. Here is the photo of the prototype which we made and next is the real pop-up house which we are not done with done with, lastly is the pop-up house which has the roof coloured but not for the rest as there wasn't sufficient time in class to complete it.

Pop up ideas

This pop up can be made by criss-crossing strips of paper to make a picture stand out.
Use springs to cause objects to pop out.
This method of V-Fold Mechanism could be used to  back the pictures  and cause it to pop-up
As you can see from the previous post, the words:"When my name"is created through the same method as this.

Discussion 16 Mar 2012: Pop-Up Book

Today we did part of the pop-up book for children based on the Literature book: When My Name Was Keoko. Basically, we did the title which is the first page of the pop-up book by cutting out the words of the book title and then pasting them onto the pop-up book so that it would pop up when opened and close up when the book closes. Here is the picture of our work on the pop-up book. It uses the above pop up word concept(s) like the criss-crossing of paper to make the word keoko pop up.
